People may think this a stupid guide to make as it is so obivous but i thought id do it for the people that really dont have a clue
I assume this is the same on the pre-facelift, I havnt uploaded pictures, no point really.
1. Un-clip the plastic surround around the handbrake shaft and take the handbrake off (leave in gear so the car doesnt roll)
2. On the passenger side of the lever, there is a 10mm nut on a threaded shaft with a locking washer on it. Move the locking washer out of the way and tighten/loosen the nut depending on what your doing with it.
3. As you tighten it make sure you check how many clicks the handbrake makes it so that you dont go too far. (mine is tight as p.... on two now)
4. put locking washer back up to the nut and tighten on again (bend the lips on it into the thread, but dont damage the thread lol) and replace plastic surround.
This is all quite fiddly but it works if you have small hands You can allways remove the bottom of the whole centre console for more space.
If this fails to work and youve tightened that as much as you can, probably means you want a new handbrake cable or shoes/pads.
You can also tighten it through taking the rear drums apart (or discs depending) and this is probably the best way to do it, but it takes a hell of alot longer.
Hope this is helpful and if i have missed anything out please add to it below
Se nao perceberes alguma cena pergunta! Nao ha nada que a malta nao ajude!
P.S: E verdade! Onde diz "on the passenger side" nao ligues... E no lado do condutor! E que os ingleses tem o volante do lado direito por isso e que para eles e no lugar do pendura! :idiot2: :idiot2: :idiot2:
